چکیده

Aim of this paper is to describe a multi-layer grid routing algorithm which gives a better result over the existing algorithms. Given a multilayer grid routing area, considered the global routing problem of selecting a maximum set of nets, such that every net can be routed entirely in one of the given layers without violating the physical capacity constraints. The contribution of this paper is of threefold. First, we formulate the problem as an integer linear program (ILP). Second, we write an algorithm which proposed identical routing layers for each net using global routing . Our algorithm gives results which are guaranteed to be within a certain range of the global optimal solution and runs in polynomial-time. Finally we demonstrate that the complexity of our algorithm can be significantly reduced in the worst case prediction.

An Optimization Algorithm Based on Grid-graphs for Minimizing Interconnect Delay in Vlsi Layout Design

In this paper, we describe a routing optimization algorithm based on grid-graphs for application in a deep-submicron VLSI layout design. The proposed algorithm, named S-RABILA (for Simultaneous Routing and Buffer Insertion with Look-Ahead), constructs a maze routing path, simultaneously with buffer insertion and wire sizing, taking into account wire and buffer obstacles, such that the interconn...

Improving Size-bounds for Subcases of Square-shaped Switchbox Routing1

Various problems are studied in the field of detailed VLSI routing. According to the position of the terminals on the outer boundaries of a rectangular grid, one can distinguish between different subcases of Switchbox Routing: C-shaped, Gamma, Channel and Single Row Routing. This paper focuses on the minimum number of layers needed for solving these problems either in the Manhattan, or in the u...

Additive Approximation for Layer Minimization of Manhattan Switchbox Routing

Switchbox routing is one of the many problems arising in the field of VLSI routing. It requires interconnecting given sets of terminals that are placed on the boundaries of a rectangular circuit board using a 3-dimensional grid in a vertex-disjoint way. An important special case is the Manhattan Switchbox Routing problem. Here minimizing the number of layers of a routing (that is, the height of...

The rapid change of network topology is a major challenge in routing. One of the we...

Improvement of Routing Operation Based on Learning with Using Smart Local and Global Agents and with the Help of the Ant Colony Algorithm

Routing in computer networks has played a special role in recent years. The cause of this is the role of routing in a performance of the networks. The quality of service and security is one of the most important challenges in routing due to lack of reliable methods. Routers use routing algorithms to find the best route to a particular destination. When talking about the best path, we consider p...
